Kathy Sue Wells

(Contemporary Abstract Artist)

 

 

 

Kathy Sue grew up in the Mississippi Delta in Cleveland, MS. She graduated from Delta State University with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts. As a freelance graphic artist and contemporary painter, Kathy Sue has developed an eye for design and an appreciation for color.

 

Kathy Sue has a passion for nature. She has been intrigued by “the textures and colors God has created”. Nature fascinates her in how the elements wear on wood and metals, reminding her of the feel of the Delta, its history and heritage.   You can see how this has influenced her work in the layers of color and texture she builds up in each piece.

 

“Painting brings a freedom and a time I treasure to express myself. Playing with different mediums and exploring color brings back a sense of my childhood and the wonderment of uninhibited creativity.”
